My cousin Tara & her husband Mitch had their first baby this summer. Unfortunately, due to crazy schedules and distance, we rarely see them. We seized the opportunity last weekend to throw a little welcoming party for our new addition. I am so thankful for a family that values... well, FAMILY.

A Time to Gather Stones Together
Our annual "See You @ the Pole" public school prayer assembly took place (IN THE RAIN!!!) this morning. It was so encouraging, so refreshing, so blessed to see over 20 students outside the school that I teach at this morning as I pulled in the parking lot. A small group of around 10 students meets weekly in my room for a bible study, so it was surprising and awesome to see a few more faces that I didn't know shared in relationship with Christ Jesus. The students, along with 2 faculty members and 2 parents/community members took turns lifting up our school, staff, leadership, students, community, and nation to the Lord in prayer for over a half-hour before school started (which is no small thing - first bell is @ 7:40 a.m.!) I snapped a few shots, and I was grateful that the students, faculty, and community members present had their eyes closed so they couldn't see me shed a few tears in praise to the God that brings together and redeems all that we lose.

Belated Birthday
I'm a few days behind in posting this (okay, a week), but it doesn't mean I love my brother any less. We celebrated his twenty-first birthday with the grandmas and pizza. What could be better?
Anyway, here are a few shots to commemorate Jaker's birthday. Here is photographic evidence that:
He is my best brother
He is my sweetest brother
He is my goofiest brother
And he is my only (living) brother!
Jake has a huge heart and is ALWAYS there for me when I need him. He has great taste, a killer eye for design, is an all-around athlete, is a stand-up comedian in his own right, and is a pillar of godly strength for my sister and I, as well as other friends and family. I am incredibly grateful for the 21 years I've had so far with Jake as my brother!

Funny Mama
One of the funniest conversations I've had online in a while just happened. I am online using my wireless laptop & my mom was on the PC in the other room. The "game" she refers to playing is computer FreeCell, which was what my sister once told her kindergarten teacher my mom did for a living.
me: hi mom.
mom: hi
me: good job!
mom: u no this comfuses me
me: you typed it to me!
me: i'm dying in here
mom: i know how to type
me: well yeah
mom: what do you mean? that you are dying in there?
me: but you sent it to me
me: that's impressive
me: you're making me laugh, that's what i mean
mom: OH !! :)
mom: i need to get back to my game
me: hahaha! that's right, that's what you do for a living. far be it from me to keep you from your game.
mom: you betcha
mom: love ya mama
me: hahaha. love you too. but you don't need to "sign" the end of your conversation
mom: oh
me: it's ok though. go kick butt in your game. bye!
