Sufjan's Best

I'll spare you the boring detail and the extravagant gush & just say that the song, Holy, Holy, Holy means a lot to me, and that Sufjan Stevens' version of it is thus far my favorite (followed closely by Phil Wickham). Stevens' arrangement is on his "Songs for Christmas" box set, the Peace disc. May it ever please the Lord.

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee
There is a sign at the side of Thee
God in three persons, blessed trinity.

Holy, holy, holy, though the darkness hide Thee
Though the eye of the sinful man Thy glory may not see
Only Thou art holy, there is none beside Thee
Perfect in power, perfect in power, in love and purity.

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty
All Thy works shall praise Thy name in earth and sky and sea!
There is a sign at the side of Thee, there is none beside Thee
God in three persons, God in three persons
God in three persons, God in three persons, blessed trinity.

-Holy, Holy, Holy, arranged by Sufjan Stevens-

Amen.

And what a way to start the day... among a barrage of tragedy in the world, both immediate and at large, to be reminded of the perfection of our Father, and our invitation to participate in Him... I can think of nothing more healing hopeful!

(As for the custom banner, I just made it in Photoshop and uploaded it as a picture. I can write down the pixel dimensions for you; it took me a bit to get it exactly right. So excited to see you!)
